These are some adverts from Colgate which came out last year. Browsing through various blogs on wordpress I came across ‘Brand Bright’ blog, which showed this advert. I’m sure you can all notice the fact that there is food on the teeth, which instantly gets the viewers attention as we never see imperfections like this in advertising. However, looking closer you realise in the first image the man has no left ear, in the second their is a floating hand and in the last image the lady has an extra finger. If you can’t read the text on the advert the first says, “Not even that missing ear gets more attention than mouth without care”. Did you notice it? Honestly, I didn’t even realise when I first saw the images, which was the exact point of the advert until you read the supporting text.
The idea behind it was when you have food stuck in your teeth people will concentrate on that and fail to notice anything else. Which is where the Colgate Floss comes in. Very clever advert in my opinion!
