HelloFlo are back with another hilarious advert. If you didn’t see their last advert around a year ago then you must go and watch it too as it’s equally as funny – I even wrote a post on it!
The ad is comical genius and as they regularly use the word period/vagina/uterus it makes the whole topic a little less taboo and squeamish! It’s obviously very “American” styled but at the end of the day you can’t help but laugh, plus it helps promotes HelloFlo’s subscription package service in a very memorable way.
My lecturer mentioned this TV series in a communication theory lecture and after watching the trailers and a snippet of an episode I decided to go all out and buy the box set for the three seasons. I have to say it was worth every penny!
The main actor Dr. Cal Lightman (Tim Roth – who is excellent!) has his own company called The Lightman Group which is a group of scientists who assist police/fbi etc with investigations through “applied psychology: interpreting microexpressions, through the Facial Action Coding System, and body language.” Basically, they can tell when people are lying through their facial expressions and body language.
It might sound a bit over the top but the show was based on the work by Paul Ekman who is a psychologist who has had a leading role in the study of emotions and their relation to facial expressions.
I would highly recommend anyone to watch this tv show because when you watch it you realise how much truth is in what they’re saying and how even you do certain expressions in specific situations without realising it.
P.s I am aware the trailer has foreign titles but I thought it was the best one to represent the show but there are plenty of other good ones on Youtube and watching the opening credits is also a good piece of film to show what the show is primarily based on.
