Anti-drink and drive ads/campaigns are generally always shocking, as this gets the audience’s attention and hopefully makes an impact. Well, I have to say, this definitely had an impact on me because when I first watched it I did actually jump!

It shows the reactions of three innocent men in a pubs toilet when a mannequin head crashes through the mirror with car crashing noises. The campaign is from Leo Burnett London and will be accompanied with print and radio ads.

In just under one week it has already got over 5 million views on YouTube and by naming it with a hash tag encourages people to talk about it through social media. I think the location is an excellent choice, obviously a pub being one of the top places to try and encourage people to not to drink and drive but by having the ad, as it were, in the toilet makes it more of a shock because here people are probably considering whether they should have another drink or how they will get home and I’m pretty sure this ad makes up you mind clearly what the better choice is.
