Just like millions of other people, I to have read Fifty Shades of Grey – yes all three books. Above is my idea/entry for One Minute Briefs to advertise the film. Using film genres/jargon I opted to focus on how the film wasn’t just a romantic chick-flick – as most of us know there’s quite a bit of action!
Despite this ad being for Denmark it has captured attention from all around the world, with a charming but odd love story which has a surprising twist. The ad shows the love a gothic boy has for a popular preppy girl. But I’ll honestly admit, (along with a large percentage of others who have watched this ad) I did not expect the ending. What’s also great is there is no dialogue in the advert at all which makes it universally appealing and who doesn’t love a good love story? It was also refreshing not to see a bouquet of flowers feature in the advert either, which I imagine was a risk for a florist brand to take but I believe this makes the brand even more appealing and the ad more charming.

My One Minute Brief entry to advertise the Celebrity Big Brother furniture for sale on Gumtree.
“Gumtree.com. The UK’s largest classifieds website, is today announcing the sale of over 40 items of furniture from the current Celebrity Big Brother 2015 house, the proceeds of which will go to Crisis, the charity for single homeless people. My One Minute Brief entry to advertise #NationalCatDay. As the brief was set one day before Halloween I decided to incorporate the two together.
Yesterdays One Minute Brief was to advertise cotton buds – random I know but this does get you really thinking about the brief more I find. I went down the route that they’re generally used for babies, so created copy to promote this.
Yesterdays One Minute Brief was to advertise washing up liquid. Here are my three entries and I’m very happy to say that the first one of the left was one of the winners for the day (yipeee!) Out of all three I do think this was probably the strongest and had the most potential. You can see the other winners here.
Yesterdays One Minute Brief was to advertises Manchester. Initially, I was a little mind blank, as I didn’t really know much about Manchester. So I did a bit of research and discovered ‘The Warehouse Project’ so did an entry on that then chose to do a humorous one by using Michelle Keegan – which did receive quite a few ‘Favourites’ on Twitter, but I think this might be more for Michelle rather then my idea!
Yesterdays ‘One Minute Brief‘ was to advertise tampons, which yes at first I was pretty speechless about I have to say. It took me a little while to come up with an idea or two but as soon as I had, the creative juices soon started flowing – which is what I love about these One Minute Briefs. Here are the two entries I did. One being a very girly approach will the use of pink and a script font. But there is something quite disturbing about having a vector tampon floating on the design I have to say! The other approach was much more humorous and concentrated more on the affect ‘that time of the month’ has on men. On the whole really enjoyed this brief – even if it was very unexpected!
